USF STUDENTS TO LAUNCH NEW RECORD LABEL

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – A group of University of Saint Francis students are preparing to launch a new student-run record label in fall 2017, the university announced in a news conference on September 13. The group’s effort is part of two University of Saint Francis programs, Media Entrepreneurship Training in the Arts (META) and Music Technology, and includes forging new Fort Wayne community partnerships.

This first USF-owned student-run interdisciplinary business venture will see the record label’s business foundations laid during the fall semester; the album will be produced and promoted during the spring 2018 semester. In the news conference, USF representatives officially opened submissions to any area musicians who would like to be considered. Submissions will be accepted through October 31 at go.sf.edu/usfrecordlabel.
